Tentative Nuclear Deal with Iran

Timothy Birdnow

I doubt this will actually happen but Iran has just blinked.

Iran may now agree to this but they will renege in time. We will probably have to do this several times to make it stick. But at least they are making concessions now, and we need that before the midterms.

They know that too which is why they will probably renege on it come late summer/early fall. They need the GOP to lose come November.

Good Retail News

Timothy Birdnow

So major retail chains, notably Target and Walmart, posted higher than expected sales figures despite tariffs and war-driven inflation.

FTA:

Retail giants Target and Walmart reported higher sales for the fiscal first quarter this week, but offered a cloudy outlook amid signs of strain in the low-income segment of the consumer market.

Target reported $25.4 billion in sales for the first quarter of fiscal 2026, which ended on May 2, up by 6.7 percent from a year earlier. Comparable sales rose 5.6 percent, led by a 4.4 percent rise in traffic and strong growth across all six core merchandise categories.

Gross margin came in at 29 percent, up by roughly 80 basis points year over year, driven by productivity and supply chain gains, higher-margin revenue, and lower price markdown rates.

How can this be? We've been told the economy is in tatters and that the public has it's pockets turned inside out in search of spare change. I guess they are panhandling "brother can you spare a dime" and spending those dimes at Walmart or Target then?

The author, seemingly determined to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, compares this first quarter of '26 with the better first quarter of '24 and so proclaims "trouble" as if a war that has skyrocketed gasoline prices and disrupted international supply chains isn't ongoing.

He quotes a Target spokesman (You know, the company that allowed men in women's changing rooms):

Management also noted that consumer sentiment has been declining and that the company is "keeping a close eye on their spending behavior,” with guidance pointing to "more challenging cost headwinds in the first half of the year that are expected to moderate in the second half.”

And how, pray tell, did they determine "consumer sentiment"? In other words they just assumed it based on their own personal feelings. Target has never been a fan of MAGA.

Anyway, this is good news; it shows the economy is still strong. Yes, different products are selling now, more affordable products. But so what? That is to be expected in wartime. The fact us the U.S. economy is doing just fine and is poised to do much finer in time.

We really ARE in a golden age!

Dem Judge Dismisses Charges Against Abego Garcia

Timothy Birdnow

The legal reasoning employed by this Democrat judge would have made the indictment of Al Capone illegal.

Capone, you may remember, did not go to prison for any of his crimes but for tax evasion. It was a "malicious prosecution" as this judge would see it, because there was animus at Capone for slipping through the fingers of justice so long.

At the time nobody cared; Capone was a known murderer and criminal mastermind everyone knew the tax evasion charge was a pretext. As Capone had no traceable income they couldn't prove he evaded taxes.

This judge argues that Garcia was being maliciously prosecuted and that was grounds for dismissal:

It (the indictment) alleged that Abrego and his co-conspirators obtained financial payments from the undocumented individuals for unlawfully transporting them into and around the United States.

The indictment also alleged Abrego was "a member and associate of the transnational criminal organization ... [known as] MS-13,” which it describes as "a criminal enterprise engaged in ... acts and threats involving murder, extortion, narcotics trafficking, firearms trafficking, alien smuggling, and money laundering.”

Abrego "used his status in MS-13 to further his criminal activity” over the life of the criminal conspiracy during which he and co-conspirators "knowingly and unlawfully transported thousands of undocumented aliens ... many of whom were MS-13 members and associates,” according to the indictment.

Yet none of the evidence was heard by the judge. Why?:

U.S. District Judge Waverly Crenshaw Jr. granted Abrego Garcia’s motion to dismiss, saying "the objective evidence here shows that, absent Abrego’s successful lawsuit challenging his removal to El Salvador, the Government would not have brought this prosecution.”

Within days after the Supreme Court ordered the Trump administration to facilitate the return of Abrego from El Salvador, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reopened the closed investigation of a Nov. 30, 2022, traffic stop of Abrego in Tennessee. Less than a month after that, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) charged Abrego and brought him back to the United States to answer the indictment, the judge said.

Senior DOJ official Todd Blanche, who is now acting U.S. attorney general, had made public statements indicating that the federal government started investigating Abrego after a judge in Maryland questioned the government’s decision to deport him. The court previously held that Blanche’s "remarkable statements could directly establish that the motivations for Abrego’s criminal charges stem from his exercise of his constitutional and statutory rights,” and that Blanche directly tied the investigation "to Abrego’s Maryland suit,” Crenshaw said.

The reopening of the concluded investigation "is the source of the vindictiveness,” he said.

Quoting a prior legal precedent, the judge said a prosecutor’s "exercise of coercive power must be impartial ... evenhanded, [and] applied without favoritism or bias.”S.

OF COURSE they began investigating Garcia after a judge ordered his return to the U.S. They had ended the investigation because the guy was no longer under American jurisdiction, you idiot!

When they realized he was going to be our problem again they acted in a responsible matter, trying to take this scumbag off our streets. That is not vindictiveness. But even if it is, so what? The man is an ILLEGAL ALIEN and doesn't enjoy the same rights and privileges as a lawful resident. He should have been immediately deported with no question or interference by a court in the first place.

This shows just how much damage Obama and Biden have done to our judiciary, how they filled the courts with activist judges who make their own laws as they please.

So now this MS-13 dirtbag (who was caught trafficking people and we have a tape of it) is now going to be walking free on American streets. He is untouchable.

Hopefully a higher court will overrule this idiot of a judge. But we can't count on it.

Swastika Rising

Timothy Birdnow

A Democrat in Texas has called for the creation of a concentration camp for zionists at what is currently a temporary holding facility for illegal aliens. Yes, the Democrats have now gone full Nazi.

From the Jerusalem Post:

After pledging to convert an ICE detention center into a prison for Zionists, Texas’s 35th congressional district Democratic primary candidate Maureen Galindo faced backlash from critics within her party and assured that her position did not mean putting all Jews into internment camps.

In a Thursday social media post, Galindo promised to write legislation that proclaimed Zionism antisemitic, and promised to turn the Karnes County Immigration Processing Center into a prison for "American Zionists and former Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers.”

That's how it always starts; not ALL Jews are bad, just the ones who want to return to Israel and live in peace there! The "good Jews" are the ones who donate to the Party and do all the hard work! But then, in time, they start thinking those Jews aren't so great either and before you know it you have Auschwitz.

It gets worse:

"It will also be a castration processing center for pedophiles, which will probably be most of the Zionists,” Galindo added.

She explained in the same Instagram post that ICE officers and Zionists would be imprisoned because they controlled human trafficking in South Texas, and rejected any claims of antisemitism against her because Zionists were fake Jews committing against the indigenous Jews, "the Semites.”

Someone kindly explain t me what a "fake Jew" is? Judaism is a religion and like all good-sized faiths has many variations. Were Sadduces 'fake Jews' because they believed some different things than did the Pharisees? Oh, and I guess this woman doesn't understand that semites are a linguistic class; Arabs are semites.

So who is to blame for this? Donald Trump and the Republicans, naturally:

Bexar County Sheriff’s Deputy Garcia responded in a video statement on Tuesday, saying that comments about jailing based on their beliefs and targeting Jewish community members had no place in the Democratic Party. He accused a Republican PAC of funding Galindo and called on Republicans to take ownership of her comments.

"We should be bringing people together, not spreading hate, division, or dangerous rhetoric that pushes people away from our party and our communities,” said Garcia.

Bexar County is the San Antonio area.

So Republicans are funding this broad, are they? Where are the receipts? No proof is offered to back that assertion.

So how does Deputy Garcia explain the Nazi up in Maine running for the U.S. Senate? Graham Platner has been walking around for years with a Nazi insignia tattooed on his body. Did Republicans make him get that tattoo when he was in the military? Did he not think to have it removed once he realized what it was?

Which party has been waiving Palestine flags and chanting "from the river to the sea"? Maybe a few outlier Republicans but just a few. It's quite common in the American Nazi, er, Democratic Party.

And we know now the Southern Poverty Law Center was certainly involved in hate crimes hoaxes and funding the KKK - why not this woman?

The madness continues:

"They run the Epstein networks, and they control DHS, because that was the whole point of DHS and ICE – for the Israelis to occupy America with a domestic military,” the politician said in a May 8 Instagram post.

Journalists contacting the politician about her remarks were part of a "billionaire Zionist” media network that also controlled drug and weapon trafficking in Texas, she said on May 12.

Galindo has defended herself from accusations of antisemitism by repeatedly claiming that Zionist Jews were not real Jews. Zionists are European colonizers, according to Galindo, in contrast to the "indigenous people to the Middle East and Northern Africa Region,” whom she dubbed Semites.

One can fairly hear the little bird as it pokes in and out of her forehead.

Newsflash Galindo - EVERYONE in the Middle East had ancestors who came from elsewhere. Most of the so-called "Palestinians" immigrated there in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries to take jobs the British just wouldn't do. They are mostly Egyptian and Iaqi who colonized the region, in prt to stop the Jews from coming home to their ancestral homeland. And they had their own country - Transjordan. That wasn't good enough for them and they tried to drive the fledgling Israel into the sea, which led Jordan to dump the troublemaking creeps in the West Bank and Gaza.

I would add the "Zionists" she disdains in Israel grant full rights to non-Jews and even have a sizable portion of the Knesset being occupied by Arab Muslims. Can Palestine say the reverse is true?

The woman is the David Duke of South Texas.

She said she's receiving lots of support on social media; I doubt it not. It only proves just how Nazified the Democratic Party has become.

All Jewish folks had better take this stuff seriously. The swastika is returning and if we laugh it off the horros of the Holocaust will return. Everyone laughed at Hitler and his silly goose-stepping toy soldiers too - until they stopped.

Ukrainian Drone Strikes Russian School; Multiple Casualties and Missing Kids

Timothy Birdnow

If Russia had done this in the Ukraine it would be the lead story on the news. It elicits a yawn when Ukraine does it to Russia.

From Zero Hedge:

Russian President Vladimir Putin has accused Ukraine of intentionally targeting civilians after a "terrorist" overnight drone attack on a school that left six dead and scores of young people wounded.

At least 39 were injured and counting, amid ongoing rescue efforts after a school complex was torn apart on the multi-drone strike attack. It happened at a school dormitory in the Russian-controlled Luhansk region. Over a dozen victims are still missing, including children, reports say.

Civilian casualties happen in war, especially modern warfare where we drop bombs on things. I get that. Accidents happen; we hit some things we didn't intend to in Iran, for instance. But the point is not that the Ukrainians are evil for this so much as that the media holds a horrible double standard, as do so many Russophobes in the West.

The article continues:

Large-scale destruction was observed at the academic building and dormitory of the Starobelsk Professional College, which teaches students aged 14 to 18. Over 80 students were at the complex at the time of the attack.

Why or how this happened is yet to be determined, but clearly the Ukrainians got their wires crossed. I don't believe they intentionally murdered teenagers. But it doesn't change the fact that a number of parents are going to have an empty seat at their table now and that ultimately goes back to what the Ukrainians did. (Yes, you can argue it ultimately goes back to Putin, but that's not how the average Russian will see it.)

It's well past time this war come to an end.

The Ruling Class

Timothy Birdnow

Pollster Scott Rasmussen finds the ruling elites hate democracy.

Yes, a huge majority say Americans have too much freedom and think they should be ruling the country. Oh, and they are fine with cheating to keep control.

Worse still are the "Politically Active Elites," members of that same elite class who engage with politics daily. In what may be the most alarming polling result I've ever seen, 69% of these Politically Active Elites would rather see their side cheat to win than accept the judgment of voters.

That is not merely offensive. It is a direct affront to the core American ideals of self-government, political equality and freedom. It’s a scandal that they play such an important role in driving the nation’s political dialogue.

This is true of both Republicans and Democrats. No wonder we feel we have a Uniparty; we do.

Proud Boys, Oathkeepers Have Records Expunged

Timothy Birdnow

Donald Trump had commuted the sentences of the Proud Boys and Oathkeepers for the J6 self-guided Capitol tour, but now the D.C. Court of Squeals, er, Appeals, has ordered their records be expunged.

Jamie "Rat-Kin" Raskin was beside himself, demanding the courts not allow the DOJ to ask for the case to be dismissed. They were about to do just that and so the court acted now to pre-empt the matter.Ratkin doesn't understand that the courts have no authority over the DOJ; it's separation of powers.

The great setup that was J6 is ending with a whimper. And Trump has set up that relief fund for victims of this lawfare, which has Democrat heads exploding and a fair number of Republicans to boot.

History will show that this was always a hoax. America has been chock-full of hoaxes for some time now. I suspect history will recognize that some day.

Gone Gabbard

Tulsi Gabbard is out.

She cited her husband's cancer as the reason for her exit, although rumors have been swirling for months that Trump was dissatisfied with her performance. This NDT article theorizes it was because of a disagreement about the Iran war.

Anyway Gabbard is out.

There have been rumors swirling that she was on her way out. She backed Joe Kent, that guy who came out trashing Trump, for instance. He had been sort of a protege' to her.

I never thought she was that great to begin with so am not overly concerned she's gone. Problem is finding someone who will be loyal and capable of doing the job. Oh, and being confirmed by the angry RINO's in the Senate who have apparently declared war on Mr. Trump.

Let's Be Frank

Timothy Birdnow

What the media is leaving out of Barney Frank's obituary.

How RACIST to say Frank's life is being Whitewashed!

But it is so. This deals with the sex call ring Barney's boy toy ran out of his apartment in D.C. But there's more than just a call boy ring; it employed underage boys, even children. It was a massive pedophile scandal involving many others. In point of fact it was undoubtedly the genesis of the Pizzagate conspiracy theory.

Frank never paid for that. His lover said Barney knew full well it was happening but Congress just let him off with a slap on the wrist (he was at least hoping it would be on his bare bottom) and the media tossed it down the memory hole as soon as possible.

At any rate Frank is probably in the 'tarnal flames about now. If he's not he's cooling his scorched heels in a most unpleasant purgatory.

Frank and the way he was allowed to continue his reign of error shows that evil had penetrated Washington, that our government was evil and a dark, satanic force was at work in the citadel of power.

Let's remember Frank as a cautionary tale, not as a hero.

In the Shadow of the Scenario (Or How I Learned to Quit Worrying and Love Climate Change)

Timothy Birdnow

This was written by Anthony Watts:

Scientists Spent 20 Years Scaring Our Kids with a Climate Model They Knew Was Flawed

For nearly 20 years, a hidden assumption inside a climate computer model has been scaring the hope for a good future out of your children.

Last week, the scientists behind it finally admitted what critics had been saying all along: The most-often-used climate scenario was implausible. It was never going to happen.

Mangione Wins Big in Court - Again

The Left has created a two tiered justice system and this article proves it. Luigi Mangione (no, he's not an Italian plumber but rather the guy who shot United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson) is going to walk thanks to a liberal judge who just dismissed the evidence against him.

From the article:

Altoona, Pennsylvania, police unlawfully searched Mangione’s backpack without a warrant while questioning him at a McDonald’s in December 2024 over UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson’s murder that month in New York City, New York Supreme Court Justice Gregory Carro said in a Monday ruling. The prohibited evidence includes a gun magazine, cellphone, passport, wallet and computer chip.

How, pray tell, could police expect to find ANYONE if they couldn't search their personal effects? The fact is when you are in a public place you never do have Fourth Amendment protections, haven't had them for decades thanks to a series of Supreme Court rulings over the years. It's why cops just search your car if you get pulled over, no warrant, no problem.

The dopey judge did allow the admission of a journal found in the backpack after Mangione was brought into the station. (What makes that different than the stuff found on the scene?) I would point out there was probable cause; a crew member at the McDonalds recognized him and called the cops.

The article continues:

"As [an officer] approached the table where the backpack was, he asked [Mangione] if there was anything in the bag they needed to know about,” Carro said, summarizing the police encounter. "Defendant responded that he was ‘just going to remain silent.’ [Officers] then proceeded to search the defendant’s backpack.”

The details of the search do not fit any "exigent circumstances” that would legally allow a warrantless search under the Fourteenth Amendment, Carro ruled.

I don't know about the laws of New York but here in Missouri if you are in a public place and cops ask to look in your bag you don't have a choice - and you aren't getting off on that technicality.

I suspect this next part is a flub by the writer, but this sounds like some of the judges they are appointing these days. Katanja Brown Jackson anyone?

The details of the search do not fit any "exigent circumstances” that would legally allow a warrantless search under the Fourteenth Amendment, Carro ruled.

I believe judge Carro means the FOURTH. As far as I know Luigi Mangione was never a slave.

At any rate a Biden judge has already taken the death penalty off the table for no good reason except this guy killed a capitalist, and we all know they have it coming, right? I fear justice is not going to be served here. I wouldn't be surprised to see Mangione get off with ten years, out in seven.

Another New Phenomenon that isn't in the IPCC

Timothy Birdnow

So we knew absolutely nothing about this. Question: how does this impact climate? It was not factored into the IPCC reports, after all.

Hokkaido University
Summary:
Mysterious red auroras spotted over Japan were found reaching astonishingly high altitudes, even during space storms considered relatively mild. The discovery suggests hidden solar activity may be stronger than scientists realized — with potential consequences for satellites orbiting Earth.

Beefeaters

Timothy Birdnow

Let's chew the fat, shall we!

Why is this "surprising"? Any diabetic knows this.

Suck on that Vegan prudes!

You do still have to worry about cholesterol, of course, but beef is just fine.

I've long known that and that's why I eat a lot of beef. It's especially important since I am on a very low sodium diet; meat, especially the fattier cuts, can be seasoned with garlic and onion and pepper and made quite palatable without the addition of salt. And it does not spike the blood sugar. IF I had a cholesterol problem and blocked arteries it would be different of course, but I am blessed in having clear veins, even if I do have heart problems.

There's a reason why British Yeoman Warders of Her Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress are called Beefeaters! They ate beef for a good reason.

At any rate if you are diabetic go nuts; feast on the fleshiest, most delicious steak or that wonderful hamburger smothered in mushroom and onion. You earned it.

Abiogenesis

This from Dr. Lyle Hancock:

A great challenge I tried to quantify (and failed) is when lightning strikes the primordial soup and produces both left hand and right-hand amino acids in equal numbers and in the same space, somehow the left and the right had to be separated and isolated such that they didn't come in contact and annihilate each other. All proteins of life on Earth comprises left-hand amino acid molecules. Since DNA didn't exist at the time to provide instructions to form a cell membrane to separate the two, I can't imagine how any non-symmetric process separated the two such that they would remain isolated long enough to become the very base building blocks of all life on Earth.

Albrexit

Timothy Birdnow

Hopefully the 51st U.S. state!

FTA:

Premier Danielle Smith says Albertans will be able to vote in the fall on whether they want the province to hold a binding referendum on separating from Canada.

In a pre-recorded speech broadcast Thursday evening, Smith said a question will be added to a provincewide referendum in October that will ask, "Should Alberta remain a province of Canada or should the Government of Alberta commence the legal process required under the Canadian Constitution to hold a binding provincial referendum on whether or not Alberta should separate from Canada?”

Smith said a vote in favour of separation doesn’t trigger the process, but will instead allow Alberta to start a legal process required to hold a binding referendum.

There had been a petition circulating to press for a vote to secede from Canada and a Court of Kigs judge (that would be a good name for a whiskey) suppressed it. Apparently Madam Smith was triggered by the court ruling and so is attaching this to a referendum that, if approved, will lead to an independence referendum. So typically Canadian - have a vote to decide if you are going to have a vote.

So what happens if Alberta does secede? The Dominion of Canada is likely to add so many herefors and wherefors and the like that the whole thing will collapse of it's own weight. The only logical course for the Albertans is to apply for annexation to the U.S. I doubt they will ever be an independent country. Canada will see to that.

Alberta is most dissatisfied with Mark Carney and his leftist agenda, particularly his Gang Green-ous policies that are preventing oil-rich Alberta from accessing their own province's wealthy.

Well, they are welcome here, and two Conservative Senators would be most welcome in these United States, as well as the oil. Granted, the whole thing might shift back to Bidenism, but adding them would certainly be a boon to us. After all, the Democrats are talking about making Puerto Rico and Washington D.C. into states so as to tip the balance of power - why shouldn't we do likewise? Alberta would be Trump country.

We'd be even more oil-rich than we are now, I might add.

Canada never made sense as a nation, and it's whole existence is predicated on their not being Americans. Nothing more binds them together. It's amazing the whole rotten structure has lasted as long as it has.

And I suspect if Alberta leaves the Dominion then so too will Quebec, which has long sought to do so. Quebec never did belong in Canada anyway; it is a Franco culture in a large Anglo one and has always demanded special privileges.

So Canada will probably break up. British Columbia would likely become a nation of it's own too, and Ontario will dominate the remains as Saskatchewan and Manitoba lack the population that Ontario has. So we may well get three separate countries out of secession, and the only good one will join us in the states. Canada will slip from a fourth rate power to a tenth rate power (not that anyone would notice) and the U.S. would just get stronger.

I'd like to have the Yukon Territory too. That would just be fun.

It's going to take a long time, but Brexit didn't happen overnight. The British are still fighting over it. Albrexit is an idea whose time has come.

Putin Says He Will Support Cuba

With what? Rocks?

How can Putin project any kind of power in the Western Hemisphere at this point?

Russia can't even take tiny Ukraine.

Putin is saying this to bolster his street cred while knowing Cuba is toast. He only came out now because it's too late and he figures he can at least get on record saying he condemns the U.S. actions.
